The state of Minnesota has officially been dubbed “The Land of 10,000 Lakes,” so picking the best three for boating is no easy task. However, the team at Bremer Jet Ski and Watercraft Rental, Inc. has been around for a while, and we have put together a list of our three favorite lakes to take out a ski boat rental and have an awesome day on the water.
Lake Minnetonka resembles an elevated lake Atlantis due to its chain of 16 interconnected lakes, more than 20 bays, a handful of islands, and at least a dozen lakeside cities. A favorite location for city dwellers seeking a more suburban experience on the water, Lake Minnetonka has more than 120 miles of shoreline and is only 40 minutes from Minneapolis. Around the Fourth of July, boaters from all over the metropolitan area swarm to the lake for a fun celebration.
Gull Lake, the biggest of the Brainerd Lakes region in central Minnesota, draws friends and families from all over the state for relaxing lakeside cabin vacations. It’s a well-liked vacation spot in the summer, where many Minnesotans have summer homes, and is no stranger to jet skis, fishing, pontoon boats, and swimmers with large inflatable rafts. People still make the most of Gull Lake by ice fishing throughout the colder months, with the Ice Fishing Extravaganza being the most prominent occasion.
One of Minnesota’s cleanest and clearest lakes is Sugar (also known as Siseebakwet), which has a water clarity of 26 feet. The Ojibwe tribes believed there was magic in the water, and the high concentration of calcium carbonate gives the water its stunning Caribbean/aquamarine hues, which make it the gem of the North. The water also provides natural protection from acid rain and has been reported to have medicinal abilities. Little Sugar Lake, which is close to the southwest of the main lake, doesn’t have its dazzling color, but it more than makes up for it with an abundance of bass, crappie, and bluegill.
Explore any of these lakes in a boat rental from Bremer Jet Ski and Watercraft Rental Inc. Our location is within a few miles of several surrounding lakes, and we even offer delivery for a small fee. Contact us today at (612) 298-7055 for more information and to reserve your rental.
